PALS Instructor Development Training

Title: AHA PALS Instructor


Description: The PALS Instructor course is comprised of three phases. The first of which is an eight-hour training program that covers both the didactic and skills portions of the American Heart Association’s PALS Provider course. After successful completion of the instructor training session, candidates must participate in teaching a 2-day class with an PALS instructor, and then be monitored by an AHA Regional Faculty member, a minimum of one time, while teaching a course. A strong emphasis will be placed not only on the provider course material, but teaching strategies and techniques. All instructor candidates will be asked to prepare and deliver a 5 minute mini-lecture on an PALS topic. Instructor candidates will receive a confirmation packet, with mini-lecture topic prior to class. Remember to study!!! 

Prerequisites: Along with your application, candidates must submit: a copy of their current AHA PALS provider card (front & back), resume, a letter of intent for candidate, a recommendation letter from an AHA Regional Faculty member or instructor supporting your candidacy. 

AHA PALS Instructor Manual is not included in course fee.

Tuition fees are utilized solely for the costs associated with the course and do not represent income to the American Heart Association, New Jersey Region.
Books for the ACLS course are included with the course fee. There is no reduction of fee for those who already have or borrow a book from another source.
