Underwood-Memorial Hospital EMS Academy Training Notice EMT Core Classes 2001 The Emergency Medical Technician is the first skilled component of the Emergency Medical Services Chain to provide care to the patient. With proper training the EMT-B is able to provide care to victims of emergencies as well as to minimize discomfort and help to prevent further injury. Throughout the program teamwork, safety and patient care skills are stressed. Audience: This program is designed for currently certified EMTs that need core credit as well as lapsed EMTs or students that have not successfully completed the EMT testing process. In order to obtain New Jersey State Certification if not certified, students must be physically capable of performing all skills, complete a final written test with a minimum score of 70 and meet all class requirements. Payment in Cash, Check, Voucher or NJ State EMT Training Fund form is expected at the time of registration. Funding for Volunteer members of Approved EMS agencies will be accepted as payment by Underwood Memorial Hospital.
